Awesome half-day tour and a must do

This was an all around great experience. Kelvin was very knowledgeable and an excellent tour guide. Pick up and drop off were smooth. I highly recommend this excursion, along with Kelvin!

This is just a driver. No tour happens. Driver did not do one thing but drive. Not sure what we paid for. Just take a taxi. Plus $44 extra per person for park entry fee. Company knows people hate a price that is not all-in. Dumb practice. Elephant center and giraffe center give nice tours. This viator option just has no point band is misleading

Dear Jeff! You should be totally ashamed for writing such a review. First of all you received a full tour! With full guidance in every location. Secondly next time you book a tour, make sure you understand and read what is included and excluded. Your arguments are nothing but fallacious and malicious to the highest degree. It's clearly written that one has to pay park fee to access the elephant orphanage on the exclusions and additional information!! It's your responsibility as a responsible traveller to read and understand what you book and sign up for! There's nothing dumb in our practise, read and understand everything prior to booking!! Your misleading people to take taxis while in the first place you booked a tour and did not take the taxi! What a fallacy! From the onset of the tour as we were informed you knew very well, about the necessary park fee required to access the elephant orphanage and still booked the tour! You are just a malicious person and your review should not even appear here. What a joke! For your information all our guide are professionals and we fail to furthom what you mean when you say no guidance at all. Clearly any one can see your just bitter beacuse of the manadatory conservation fee required to access the elephant orphanage! Everything is clear on inclusions and exclusions when making any booking! Next time read everything, so that you are properly informed and learn to appreciate an honest work! All the best.

Sam was a very friendly and attentive guide. He took photos of me feeding the giraffes and showed me the best place to watch the baby elephants. I had a great day. Unfortunately, the additional booking required for the entrance fee to the national park is complicated and time-consuming. You should be prepared for this.

Visiting these centers are a must when in Nairobi. This tour was perfect and easy for visiting. They did a great job helping us order the proper entry tickets ahead of the trip, and they were efficient and informative getting us between the places. More a driver than a tour

More than a tour you get a private driver, we did not got any explanation of the car placed we were going to (outside of what you get in the actual park by the rangers) the tour guide just limited to drive to the locations

At the elephant orphanage theres a presentation made on each and every elephant they host on the orphanage. So we don't understand what you mean when you say you got no explanation of the places visited! Be honest!! Of course where else did you expect the driver-guide to drive you to apart from the tour locations? Theres are only two tour locations on this tour elephant orphanage & giraffe centre!! At the giraffe centre your guided through the giraffe centre with there resident guides as well as the guide. We had a fantastic time at the Elephant orphanage and Giraffe centre. Being able to be so close and feed /touch the animals is very special. Meshack our guide was great. Very knowledgeable and he guided us to all the right places to stand for the best experience with the animals. Must see tour while in Nairobi.

Kelvin was an excellent guide - thoughtful, knowledgeable, friendly and fun. Highly recommended. The tour was awesome. The elephants and giraffes were adorable. And we got so close. Love that these centers exist to support and conserve the wildlife.

Loved feeding the Rothschild Giraffes and was surprised that we also saw a baby black Rhino at Sheldrick elephant nursery. Our guide, Sam was friendly & very knowledgeable.

Everything went smoothly. Our guide was very helpful. However paying for the park fee was a disaster. I was told that my credit card didn’t go through. We paid our guide in dollar so he could pay in shillings. However my bank said they approved the transactions three times. Now I have to file a claim for the three charges. How long this will take is any body guess. A clear instruction on how to go about paying the park fees is a must!!! Better still include the park fee on viator charges and let the tour operator obtain the tickets for the park.

At the same time, we have clearly indicated that you can make this payment prior by login unto the E-CITIZEN platform, which is a government online payment platform and make the payment required to access the elephant orphanage, which is inside a conservation area, Nairobi National Park. We endeavor to give nothing, but exceptional experiences and we truly apologize for your experience with E-CITIZEN, and we hope with time the system will work better as it's a government system and we can't control its workings as the system has failures every now and then. Kelvin was great. Very professional. He helped resolve an issue when I had trouble purchasing an entry ticket for the National Park, and he got us the best and coolest viewing area for the elephant orphanage. I would definitely recommend him.

I had such a great day on this tour. Sam, my guide/driver was extremely knowledgeable and gave me a short lesson at the giraffe centre I otherwise would not have gotten. Not only was Sam knowledgeable but also personable (he’s also willing to take your touristy photos with the animals). This tour takes you to the Giraffe Centre earlier in the morning meaning you miss the crowds but it is not rushed, furthermore the elephant orphanage was spectacular. The Kobe Tough beads and leather tour was great. This organization is fantastic and truly does so much for the community, a great addition to the day as I would not have known about it otherwise! As a solo female traveller I felt safe this whole tour and would recommend it to anyone

Amazing Elephant Orphanage Visit

5 stars for the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust for helping rescue, providing rehab, giving medical care and reintroducing animals to the wild. It's a special place and they do things ethicallly. Animals are so well cared for and you can see how much they love the keepers, although the staff make sure the babies don't get too attached to their human carers by rotating. You learn a lot about the animals (baby elephants, baby rhinos, other wildlife needing resuce), the work of the trust beyond rescue and the reintroduction process which can take up to 5 years to ensure the babies are properly integrated. You can adopt a baby elephant to help with their care. The area is huge and they only allow an hour each day for visitors (during midday feeding time). The keepers don't force the elephants to come near, but some of them move close enough to enjoy pats or rubs from visitors under the keepers' watchful eyes. They're pretty playful and it's amazing to see how healthy they are after hearing the stories ofnhow they were found/rescued. The tour guides don't enter with guests, but it's pretty straightforward and the truat has a lot of staff to answer questions. The Giraffe Center was good, worth it despite it being a pretty short stop. Less than an hour but you can opt to stay a bit longer to hang out with the giraffes. They don't make the giraffes come close either and are strict so the animals aren't overfed, so they're doing it right. Good brief talk on giraffes so you learn about them, and the staff were very knowledgeable and patient with all my questions about the giraffes while we were in the feeding area. The tour can be done DIY to be honest, but it was nice to have someone make sure we got to the places early enough. There was only 4 other people with me at the Giraffe Center while we were there.

Visit the orphan babies and support the locals!

Feeding the giraffes directly at The Giraffe Center was a great start followed by seeing the baby rhino, Raha, and the 27 young elephants. Our guide ensured we had front row access and knew the best places to visit and support the local craft persons. I highly recommend Rustic Nature Tours!

Incredible memories made!

So much fun! Our driver was incredible. He got us to the Giraffe Center early so we could beat the rush and have as much time as possible with the giraffes. He was knowledgeable and was able to answer many of our questions. At the Elephant Orphanage, he knew exactly where to stand to get us in the gate first. He also got us the best spot to see the babies. It was very informative and we got to touch the elephants as the came near the fence.
