What To Expect

Board your coach in Florence, and travel into the hills of Tuscany where the city of Siena awaits. Join a guided tour of the city with a visit to Siena Cathedral and Piazza del Campo. Then, make the most of some free time to set your own pace, and perhaps enjoy a coffee in the sun alongside the locals.

From Siena, return to the Tuscan countryside to explore the Chianti wine region. Stretch your legs with a stroll through a vineyard, olive grove and wine cellar, and refuel with a Tuscan winery lunch and wine tasting (upgrade).

After lunch, journey onward to San Gimignano with its medieval towers, cobbled streets and squares. Here, your guide helps you find top attractions on a map so that you can explore the town independently. You have about 1.5 hours free time to wander amid the town and its 14 towers

Travel from San Gimignano to Pisa: your final stop of the day. Follow your guide to Cathedral Square to discover Pisa Duomo, Pisa Baptistry, the monumental cemetery (aka Camposanto) and, of course, the Leaning Tower of Pisa. If you’ve booked an upgraded tour, you can climb the tower.

Return to Florence in the early evening, and finish your Tuscany tour with a drop-off at the start point.

This is a great tour which I highly recommend doing. Our guide Mirella was amazing and she made the day fun and interesting. You will be very lucky if Mirella is your guide! Sienna is an incredible town to visit. So beautiful and interesting. The cathedral is stunning and one of the most beautiful I’ve seen in Italy so far. San Gimignano and Pisa were also incredible. The lunch is fun and the food very generous. Definitely a must do if you visit Florence.

Must do tour
Roxanne_O, Dec 2024
Tour was wonderful! Alex, tour guide, was very informative. He went out of his way to make our trip memorable!
Amazing tour by Manolo!
Pedro_V, Dec 2024
Amazing experience! We are not the kind of couple to take tours, this time we decided to take a break from planning everything and I actually regret not doing this more often after experiencing this. Manolo was simply great. If I could do one change I would sacrifice Pisa in exchange for more time in Siena and San G. Pisa is not that great and boring.
Beautiful day trip with my granddaughter.
Janning_E, Dec 2024
Everything in this tour was excellent; the cities visited, the lunch at the winery, the information provided. Manolo, the tour guide, exceeded my expectations with his explanations and coordination so we could be on time on every stop. The local guide in Siena was also excellent and gave us a lot of history of the city. I highly recommend this tour.
Tour day
Keith_P, Dec 2024
Was a good tour but some draw backs cities so far apart no time to really see anything. It was a very rushed day
Thanks for a great day!...
Kendra_P, Dec 2024
Thanks for a great day! Mano was very knowledgeable and shared great insight.l of the region. The food was great at the winery too.
Top shelf day
Megan_C, Dec 2024
Top shelf day. Well organised and paced and lunch was fabulous. Genie was an outstanding guide, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. This day was one of the highlights of our Italian tour.
Great day in Tuscany!
Colleen_L, Dec 2024
Such an amazing experience. Each city was great in its own way. The day was long, but well worth it. Lunch was tasty and filling. There was a large group of us (about 60), but the guide managed us well and we stayed on time and didn’t leave anyone behind. Mano was a terrific guide and provided a lot of additional information throughout the tour. I would highly recommend this tour.
Incredible tour - so much fun!
Lauren_A, Dec 2024
Mano was an amazing guide for the day! His depth of knowledge and passion for sharing it with the group was amazing. He made the day fun, and never stopped making sure every single person was enjoying themselves. Would definitely recommend Mano and Walkabout tours!!
Awesome!🤩
Alicia_S, Dec 2024
The tour was very nice! The tour guide Mano is excellent! I only wish we spent more time on the winery and longer free times. Other than that, I fully recommend it.
Great day out
Emma_H, Dec 2024
I had a great day and would really recommend this trip. Our tour guide Stefano was really friendly, knowledgeable and funny. I felt like I was in a safe pair of hands and he went out of his way to learn our names and make the trip enjoyable. All the stops are great - I felt I saw a lot more of Italy by doing this trip rather than getting a train to Pisa to see just one thing (the tower). The lunch is also great - good food and plenty of wine to try, they are generous. To note - it is a long day (12 hours) and there’s a fair amount of walking (I did 20,000 steps). Some parts can be quite hilly, factor in some cardio if it’s a hot day! Great day and great value for money
Highly recommend
Katrin_P, Dec 2024
Very nice tour, well organized, beautiful places, amazing scenery. Thank you Stefano, the best guide in Italy and Giuseppe, the driver who skillfully and safely drove on narrow and curved roads!
Best part of the trip!
Natalia_V, Dec 2024
This was the highlight of our trip! Stefano was an incredible tour guide and really did everything to ensure our big group saw everything in the itinerary without feeling rushed. He was super friendly and educated on everything we toured. The lunch at the farm, the drive up the hill, Siena, everything really was just so beautiful!! We would HIGHLY recommend this tour for anybody looking to fully experience the Chianti region
Fantastic whirlwind.
Christopher_A, Dec 2024
What a fun experience! The tour guide was fantastic! She had such excitement and energy. It was contagious. And the stops were wonderful. It almost made you feel like you wished it was a multi day tour instead of multi hour. What seems on his face as a long day actually goes by fairly quickly. Highly recommend us a way to get out of the city and go see something else besides just downtown Florence.
Absorb in the moment of Siena, San Gimignono and Pisa
Heng_J, Dec 2024
Genivra is a young, energetic and caring guide. I am on my second time visiting Florence. This experience with her is great. She made this trip exciting. She make sure we get our rest, we get our time to take breathtaking pictures and a delicious and enjoyable lunch with wine.
Our tour guide was Manuel...
Megan_C, Dec 2024
Our tour guide was Manuel for the day and he was awesome. He grew up in Tuscany so he spoke passionately about the areas, but he also let us have our free time to ourselves. The tour itself was really cool, we visited Siena, San Gimignano, and Pisa. I wish we had more free time in Siena because it’s a beautiful place, but the whole trip is a time crunch because each city is about an hour away from each other. The bus is super comfortable and you can store your luggage in there safely. The lunch was at a beautiful farmhouse in the Chianti vineyards. I highly recommend the lunch portion. Overall really satisfied with the tour! We did spend a lot of time on the bus so I think we could’ve cut out visiting the San Gimignano plaza and had more time in Siena.
Even a whirlwind tour can be better.
Doug_F, Dec 2024
We expected a whirlwind tour, and that's what we got. Sara, our tour guide (no H please) was personable and the bus was comfortable, but.... - We were late leaving the meeting point, from which a 10- to 15-minute walk through traffic was necessary to get to the bus. In fact, in most places, the bus dropped us so far from where we needed to be, that we probably spent at least an hour (total) walking to and from tour sites. -We were on that bus for a loooong time with no bathrooms, and when we arrived at the different stops, we often weren't given realistic opportunities for the bathrooms. - The description says maximum of 40 people. That's a full busload, and that's what we had. That is a lot of people. We would have been happier with a much smaller group. - Time on the bus was down-time. Other than a sheet of information with crude maps, no information about where we were going was given to us, just information about the mechanics of the trip. The time on the bus, especially with the AV system on the bus, could have been spent teaching us about the places we were going, how that fit in with Florentine or Italian history, or other interesting items about Italy, Florence, the communities or, in fact, most anything else (other tours?) - There was one place -- Sienna -- where we did have a local tour guide, and that was interesting. But the two other stops lacked tour guides or information. In fact, one place was basically reduced to a gelato stop since we weren't given any information about the town or why we were there. It appears to be a well-preserved medieval town, but nothing was about that explained. - Lunch was excellent. The scenery was excellent. The tour did what it promised - it gave us a taste of Tuscany in 12 hours. The taste could have been richer. We recommend a different tour with more information and fewer people.
Great way to see the Tuscan countryside and some highlights!
Florin_P, Dec 2024
Our guide (I think her name is Mariella) was excellent! Very knowledgeable. Extremely well organized tour and lots of good information. Bus very nice and clean. The stops and tours were excellent and the lunch at the farmhouse was spectacular!
Great way to see a lot! You will also see a lot of walking, lol
Jen_P, Dec 2024
Wonderful tour to see a lot of places in one day! Our guide Sara and driver Sergio were amazing! As others have said - definitely a ton of walking so wear comfy shoes! It’s a large tour bus so they have to park far away from where you enter each of the cities so it’s a long walk to/from the bus and then all the walking you’ll do around the cities. The vineyard is beautiful and the lunch is huge! And lots of wine included! You will sleep like a baby after this tour (most likely on the bus ride home!). The meeting spot for the spot out of Florence was a little hard to find at first but just look for the tour guides with their signs. It was kind of on the back side of the train station.
Marile was a great tour...
Amanda_G, Dec 2024
Marile was a great tour guide. Very personable and knowledgeable. The tour overall was good but be prepared to walk quite a bit. Also probably could’ve gone without seeing San Gimignano, nothing to write home about there. The rest of the stops were good but I do wish we had more time in Pisa.
